PhD Program Entrance Examination

I doubt that I will, but I don't want to forget today. Had my PhD Entrance Exam presentation at 13:30. Formally introduced the indie game studio Plain Box Interactive (composed of other NAIST students) as an official research activity of mine. After the exam I was ushered to a waiting room, where Arno Lübke and Enzo Dayrit, also core members of Plain Box and also applying for PhD candidacy, were waiting on their exams. When Professor Matsumoto came to inform me that I was done, I stood and introduced Arno and Enzo as fellow game developers. Professor Matsumoto then asked "Have you played anything on the PS4 yet?" "No, not yet," I said. "Why not?" "I've been a little busy lately writing a Master's thesis." We all shared a hearty laugh. I saw Professor Matsumoto coincidentally a few minutes later and he told me that my research homework was to buy a PS4. At night some lab members invited me to go get ramen at 旭川ラーメン梅光軒(http://tabelog.com/nara/A2901/A290101/29000200/). Great food + great friends + great conversations with other aspiring students from a total of four different countries. I really love this type of exchange. Got back to school to find a message from Xin Yang, another core member of Plain Box Interactive. He had apparently solved the riddle of steel and created a working crossbow for our game currently in-development. His recent motivation for our new game project is inspiring and contagious. Finally, had a wonderful conversation with Sirikarn Pukkawanna and Doudou Fall about all manner of awesomeness and hilarity. I doubt that I will, but I don't want to forget today.
