On Christian Games Pt. 1

In a general survey of video game genres of the 70's/80's, it has become oddly apparent that the nitch-genre of Christian Video Games actually counts as story-focused games. Inherently, these games are built on the premise of conveying aspects of Christian faith and the Bible, and are therefore digital storytelling media. But, given that the gameplay of these games was generally horrid, I have to wonder at the production balance of these types of games. More precisely, are these games that employ engaging gameplay as a mechanism for effective storytelling, or is this just a Bible on a TV screen with some random, game-like tasks scattered throughout?
